Smartphone-Based Spiritual Support Applications to Overcome Anxiety in Emergency Unit Nurses during the COVID-19 Pandemic: Extended Rapid Application Development

BACKGROUND: Spiritual assistance cannot be provided ideally to emergency room (ER) nurses facing anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is because of clergy’s restrictions and available time. AIM: This study aimed develop an independently usable smartphone-based spiritual support application. METHODS: extensive rapid application development (ERAD). Four specialists in spirituality, music, psychology, information technology evaluated Muzida Support (MSS) prototype’s validity reliability. Thirty-two ER who handle patients were subjected prototype acceptance tests. RESULTS: The content test demonstrates a high level accessibility for accuracy (0.9), rhythm tempo compatibility (0.8), relaxing impact that results (0.8). Intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) values indicate MSS reliable (0.71). mean ± standard deviation (SD) interface score 7.84 1.25, voice clarity aspect 8.9 1.28, ease use 7.56 1.31, effect on reducing 7.65 1.21, boost 8.0 1.16, happiness 8.03 1.32, calming 8.1 1.32. SD 8.06 0.44, indicating user can run very well. CONCLUSION: has adequate validity, reliability, acceptability, so it suitable as therapy.
